Ever wondered how dogs heartily gobble up everything they see in their bowl? And in a heartbeat, they're mopping up the bowl begging for more? Unfortunately, not anymore for my Lesley; she is getting old. And we know it's common for old dogs. She started to become understandably picky when it comes to her meal - especially when it's canned dog food and dry food.
We tried a lot of things, but I discovered her vigorous appetite hasn't gone for wet food. So, I decided to think of a homemade meal that's easy for her to enjoy, and at the same time one where I can throw in nutritious veggies, fiber, and protein to also help her aging body. That's when crock-pot beef stew came to me - easy, nutritious, and fun to make!

Step 1: Set crock-pot to high after adding water.
Step 2: Rinse and cut the beef into bite-size and put it into the cooker.
Step 3: Chop the veggies and potatoes in bite-size pieces and add it to the cooker. Be sure meat are well immersed in liquid. Cover and simmer gently for 45 minutes.
Step 4: Briefly open the lid for checking. Stir periodically on high in the first hour then set it low for 8 to 10 hours.
Put the stew into air-tight containers and freeze. When ready to serve, microwave until warm. Stir gently and it's good to go.
